That's where the computer room is over here at home. So, alright, I can update this at least.
For as long as I can remember, I never seem to do much good around cold weather.
Especially when it comes to being at my bookshop, with only one kerosene heater to warm the place up. Sometime soon, I'll have to see which other one still works. I know there's three more stored away in the basement, and one of them should still work.
I have to rely on kerosene heating because one of the heads of the whole marketplace I work at decided to charge an extra 50 bucks of rent a month when I put in any electric heating. Already it costs like 400 bucks a month to rent the building. Believe me I WISH I could make that much in a month, but it's rough. I gave the guy a nickname some time ago. Ebenezer Larry. (Larry would be his first name.) This guy isn't just a moron when it comes to managing chains of vendors, but also a penny pincher. All the time, my dad and I have seen people come and go. There was this landscaper guy who didn't stay for much more than a month, for instance. There were some folks around my shop in which I had befriended, and they too are gone.
The one very good thing about the Chesapeake Marketplace is that in Main Building towards the back entrance are 3 plastic containers full of these old comic books; Marvel, DC, and other comics in between. There's BUNCHES of them! I've already gotten five and I immediately really like the Dragonlance fandom. I have just issue 4 and I hope to find more over there! I also have a Batman, a Spiderman, a Beetlejuice (based on those old Saturday morning cartoons I sorta remember watching), and the first issue of this series called Star Masters. The Silver Surfer is in that (the reason why I got that), and I've yet to get to know the other guys I'm not so familiar with; Beta Ray and Quasar for example. Quasar's kinda cool. He can fly around and do stuff in space without having to use anything to help breathe out there. Beta Ray, I've only just remember the name and that one guy over at his world speaks in the Old English, like how Shakespeare writes his poems and plays.
Anyway, I can't seem to write much of
anything when it comes down to really cold weather. After a really long and cold day at work, all I want to do when I get home is just stay upstairs and stay warm. There's just no room for any sort of creative writing; this includes roleplaying.
I'm hardly on any computer at all. The older PC at my store? Forget it--I can't write stories or poems or whatever when I'm so freaking cold. This past weekend? Oh my God... I was wearing two layers of socks and my feet were STILL really, really cold.
I hope spring comes real soon, because I miss writing, period. Meanwhile there's comics to purchase and read, movies to watch,
still have yet to rewatch SPN from the old seasons I have again...and those new and old games I've been playing and replaying.
...Oh, and I'd like to mention that I ordered for a very affordable mattress today.
Finally. By Thursday, I can say goodbye to the old one in my room that's falling apart. By this week, I can go back to sleep in my room. My cat won't have to cry on and on by the door to the room I sleep in and scratch at it almost every morning. The room I sleep in now is also near the basement, unfortunately.
I've got a few minutes or so to spare to check on at least a few of my LJ buds... Then I've got to get back upstairs. Otherwise I'm going to have to wear gloves to type for much longer than that.
